Oscars 2024: What’s Inside The Rs 1.4 Crore Bag For The Nominees
At the 2024 Oscars, the nominees across the 20 categories will receive gift bags valued at $180,000 which is roughly Rs 1.4 crore.

For the past 22 years, Los Angeles-based marketing company Distinctive Assets has been presenting ‘Everybody Wins’ gift bags to nominees in the Oscars’ top categories. At the 2024 Oscars, 20 nominees received gift bags valued at $180,000 (approximately Rs 1.4 crore), as reported by CNBC.

The lavish gift bag, which can be likened to a suitcase, contains over 50 items ranging from a Rubik’s cube worth Rs 1,200 to an invitation for a luxurious stay worth Rs 41 lakh at a ski chalet in Switzerland.

“It rarely ever fits into a single suitcase. We have a piece of Olympia luggage that’s the biggest rolling duffel bag they make,” said Distinctive Assets founder Lash Fary to CNBC Make It. “And then it usually spills over into these eco-friendly tote bags.” It’s worth noting that the company is not affiliated with the Academy.

Here are the highlights of what’s inside the ‘Everybody Wins’ gift bags:

1) The most expensive gift in this year’s bag is a three-night stay at Chalet Zermatt Peak in Switzerland worth $50,000 (about Rs 41 lakh). The chalet holds the title of the ‘Best Ski Chalet’ from the World Ski Awards and the Oscar 2024 nominees will have exclusive use of the entire chalet. Additionally, they can bring up to nine guests, as reported by CNBC.

2) An invitation for a seven-day retreat at Southern California’s Golden Door spa, valued at $24,000 (about Rs 19 lakh). This renowned spa offers a range of rejuvenating experiences including massages, farm-to-table meals and mindfulness and wellness classes.

3) A handmade bag crafted by master artisans from Canada-based Elboque is part of the package, valued at $335 (about Rs 27,000).

4) Nominees will also receive a portable Schwank Grill valued at $1,350 (about Rs 1 lakh).

5) Among the gifts is a micro-needling treatment from Cynosure worth $10,000 (about Rs 8.2 lakh). This treatment is designed to tighten and revitalise the skin while minimising signs of ageing and reducing blemishes.

6) Nominees can also enjoy a live show worth $25,000 (about Rs 20 lakh) from mentalist Carl Christman. This show combines magic, mind-reading, hypnosis and comedy.

7) Adding a touch of nostalgia is a retro-themed 50th anniversary Rubik’s Cube valued at Rs 1,200. Featuring the puzzle’s original logo and colour scheme, it’s sure to delight recipients.

8) Lastly, nominees will receive a luxury gift set from Miage skincare valued at $515 (about Rs 42,000).
