Aquaman 2 Trailer: Angry Amber Heard Shows Up For Just 3 Seconds; Jason Momoa Fights Black Manta
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom marks the return of Jason Momoa's aquatic hero. The film is directed by James Wan.

The Aquaman sequel is finally coming soon. The makers have now released the trailer of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom which marks the return of Jason Momoa’s aquatic hero. The trailer begins with Momoa’s character narrating his story and explaining his journey from a ‘wanderer’ to the King of Atlantis. It then shows how the Aquaman will not battle new threats.

The trailer of Aquaman 2 further reveals that Jason Momoa will be fighting the next villain called the Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Besides Jason Momoa, Aquaman 2 trailer also shows Wilson and Abdul-Mateen, Nicole Kidman, Temuera Morrison, Willem Dafoe and Dolph Lundgren reprise their roles from the original film. Amber Heard can also be seen for merely three seconds in the trailer. It is also revealed that Vincent Regan, Indya Moore and Pilou Asbæk have also joined the cast of the film.

“Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all," the official synopsis of the movie reads. Watch the trailer here:

Soon after the trailer was released, Amber Heard fans reacted to it and expressed disappointment with her ‘less screen time’. “Wow a whole 3 seconds of Amber Heard. You guys are cowards," one of the fans wrote. “I didn’t even see her. Must of blinked," another comment read.

It should be noted that last year, during Amber Heart and Johnny Depp’s trial in court, the former claimed that her role in the DC movie was cut down. Later, the director of the movie James Wan also reacted to the allegation and shared that the sequel has been created to focus on Arthur and Orm’s relationship. “I always pitched this to everyone from the get-go. The first ‘Aquaman’ was Arthur and Mera’s journey. The second movie was always going to be Arthur and Orm. So, the first was a romance action-adventure movie, the second one is a bromance action-adventure movie," Wan told Entertainment Weekly.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is produced by Peter Safran, Wan and Rob Cowan. The film will hit theatres on December 20, 2023.
