Liverpool ex-coach Jurgen Klopp had some choicest words to say about Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking at Chelsea.
During his farewell event last night, May 28, Klopp touched upon various topics in the football world. The German coach also spoke about how he felt that Chelsea had recovered a lot this season. Considering the improvement, he was certainly surprised to see Pochettino leave The Blues on ‘mutual agreement’ at the end of this season.
Speaking to the fans and the host, this is what Klopp said as per an Instagram post from The Football Joe – “Finally they [Chelsea] play football which everyone thinks ‘Oh, they might be back’ and then they sack the manager anyway.”

Jurgen Klopp didn’t just stop there. The ex-coach also aimed a slight dig toward Chelsea owners Clearlake Capital and Todd Boehly for the ugly treatment of Mauricio Pochettino.
Speaking further during his farewell event, Klopp talked about how we would not have survived a single season at the London-based club. This is what he said in the same post – “We [Liverpool] should be really happy we have them [Fenway Sports Group] and not guys who bought London clubs. I wouldn’t have survived a year at Liverpool [with them in charge]”.
Jurgen Klopp isn’t the only person who has voiced his distaste for Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking. Just days after the Argentine coach left The Blues, Chelsea’s young star Cole Palmer shared a post on Instagram to thank the coach for his guidance.
The ex-Manchester City forward just had a stellar campaign with Pochettino at the helm, emerging as the outright leader in the Premier League in goals and assists (33). Hence he was clearly disappointed to see the coach leave so soon.
Sharing a picture of himself and the Argentine on Instagram, Palmer wrote, “Gaffer, thank you for everything you have done for me and making my dreams come true. All the best.”

It was reported that Mauricio Pochettino had several talks with Chelsea’s sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali before the exit.
After much discussion, it was mutually agreed between both parties that the Argentine would no longer continue as coach at the London-based football club.
Since Roman Abramovich’s sale of the club in 2022, Chelsea have shown great ambition, spending over £1 billion on new signings to improve the club’s performances. However, on the management side of things, Chelsea will now be searching for a fourth permanent manager within the last two years. It remains to be seen what update the club will provide on their new management team and structure.
