Milan: The 27-year-old Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder has suggested that unofficial talks between his club Inter Milan and EPL champions Manchester United over a transfer to England are ongoing.
Sneijder has been heavily linked to Alex Ferguson’s side despite denials of interest from all involved in the past couple of weeks. But asked if there had been talks between Old Trafford and the Serie A club, Sneijder told Nos.nl, "Yes, but nobody has called officially.
"Maybe there have been unofficial talks. The situation is that I am an Inter player, but there's a chance that I will leave.”
Sneijder will be in England as part of the national side for the Netherlands' friendly at Wembley on Wednesday, provided the game goes ahead amid the turbulent riots postponing football games across London.
The former Real Madrid player has reportedly been reluctant to reduce his wages to make the move to the Premier League champions but his latest comments hint at a possible change of heart.
He continued: "If something crosses my path, I have enough time to take a decision about it. It is down to the club. If a good bid comes in, they have to let me go. They don't want to lose me but there's a chance they will.
"I am leaving England after the game, but if I get permission, I have to go back."
