Milan: Inter have secured the services of Argentine attacker Mauro Zarate from Lazio on a temporary basis with an option to make the move permanent at the of his spell.
The versatile forward has signed a loan contract until the end of the season.
The Giuseppe Meazza club were looking to sign a new attacker because of the departure of Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi Makhachkala and head coach Gian Piero Gasperini sees Zarate as the perfect fit for his 3-4-3 formation.
Zarate joined Lazio from Al Sadd in June 2008 and quickly became an important first-team player at the Romans.
However, he was no longer certain of a starting berth following the arrivals of Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cisse this summer and wanted to leave Lazio.
Zarate is Inter's second signing on deadline day of the summer transfer window after the capture of Diego Forlan from Atletico Madrid.
