New Delhi: India have dropped two places to be ranked 162nd in the latest global football rankings, released by world football's administrative body FIFA on Thursday.
India currently have 142 points. India ended their 2018 World Cup qualifiers campaign poorly with 7 losses in eight matches, ending their campaign with a 1-2 loss against Turkmenistan.
Iran (42) jumped up two spots to be the highest ranked Asian nation, followed by Australia (50) and South Korea (56).
Argentina took over from Belgium at the top of the rankings. World champions Germany slipped to fifth and Copa America winners Chile move up to third -- their highest position.
Colombia have moved up to the fourth place but Spain are down to sixth, just ahead of Brazil and Portugal.
England slipped to 10th with Uruguay jumping above them into the top 10 at the expense of 11th placed Austria.
