New Delhi: FIFA President Sepp Blatter has announced the expected monetary help that the world football governing body will extend to help develop the game in India.
Blatter made the announcement on the last day of his four day India tour.
AIFF will receive $1 million for a period of four years. But Blatter, in India on a four-day tour, gave the AIFF a wake-up call as well.
"To say to the All India Football Federation, wake up, wake up. Put together all the assets. The assets are not only inside the football," the FIFA chief told reporters in the Capital on Tuesday.
Blatter also appealed to the All India Football Federation to formulate a concrete strategy for the betterment of Indian football.
Football is a part of the life of our society, so approach the social, cultural organisations, approach the economic organisations, approach the government, then present your plan and then go forward step by step," Blatter said.
