84 mins: Chennaiyin FC are spreading the ball around really well. But the tight line maintained by FC Goa is forcing them to go back and play more sideways passes.

80 mins: Rafael Coelho whips in a powerful low cross from the right and Thongkhosiem Haokip gets on the end of it. He attempts a cheeky little flick with the back of his heel but directs the shot straight at Edel Apoula. The keeper still had a lot to do as he had to get down quickly to make the save. FC Goa come very close to taking the lead.

Pelissari had his heart in his mouth as Laxmikant Kattimani blocked the penalty out. However, the keeper could only palm it straight back out and Bruno Pelissari reacted the earliest to knock the ball into an empty net. Laxmikant Kattimani could only look helplessly as he did not have time to recover from the diving save that he made. Chennaiyin FC are ahead! Can they hold on to this lead?

Laxmikant Kattimani was alert and quickly came out of his line to collect the ball before any Chennaiyin FC player could get on the end of it. What a fast paced start to the game it has been. The question is how long can the players keep this tempo going?

Jonatan Lucca has been steady in the midfield and is most useful in breaking the opposition's play, he has made 51 tackles, the most for his team.

6:02pm: While Elano is still their best player, Chennai will expect Jeje, Mendoza and Mendy, who have turned things around for them to perform when it matters the most. Their goalkeeper Apoula has been in a brilliant form and has got a good backing from his defenders. If Elano and Co. can somehow find a way to score a quick goal then Materazzi’s strategy will be to block everything and not let Goa players move freely with the ball.

6:00pm:Chennai lost 1-2 against Atletico de Kolkata in the second leg of semi-final but reached the final with an aggregate score of 4-2, thanks to their authoritative 3-0 victory in the first leg. Goa, on the other hand, after losing the first leg 1-0 to Delhi Dynamos, made a stunning comeback in the second leg to outplay their opponents 3-0 and reach the final for the first time.
