The college provides two scholarships to meritorious students from economically weaker sections.

The first choice of NEET UG toppers is Delhi AIIMS. It is arguably the best and cheapest medical college in the country with a great NIRF Ranking. But there is another best government medical college in Delhi. It is Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), affiliated with Delhi University. It is ranked 32nd in the NIRF rankings for 2023. The hostel fee is around Rs 33,000 per year. It also includes a security deposit of Rs 5000. The fee for a single room is only Rs 50 and for a double room is Rs 30.

The minimum cut-off required to study MBBS in Maulana Azad Medical College in 2023 was 710 marks for the general category, 706 for OBC, 695 for EWS, 670 for SC and 665 for ST. Here, 15 per cent of seats are admitted under the All India Quota and 85 per cent of seats under the State Quota.

Maulana Azad Medical College provides two scholarships to meritorious students from economically weaker sections. Maulana Azad Student Scholarship Scheme and Smt. Santosh Sharma Memorial Scholarship Scheme.

Under this scheme, an amount of around Rs 25000 is provided. For the Maulana Azad Scholarship Scheme, the family income should be less than one lakh per annum. For Mrs. Santosh Sharma Memorial Scholarship Scheme, the annual income should be less than 2 lakhs. The annual tuition fee for MBBS at Maulana Azad Medical College is Rs 4,445. A security deposit of Rs 2000 is required to be paid. This will be refunded after completion of the course.

There are four hospitals affiliated with MAMC; they have a combined capacity of 2800 beds and serve lakhs of people in Delhi alone and many more in the surrounding northern Indian states. The college is a referral centre for tertiary care and offers teaching programmes for graduate and postgraduate degrees as well as specialist training and sub-specialties/fellowships (known as super-specialties in India).
