IPS Sameer Saurabh hails from the city of Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. He completed his school from a local school in the area where he lived. He then pursued his BTech from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli. After completing his graduation studies he worked for a private company in Mumbai. He did not find any satisfaction in his job and decided to resign. He went back to his city and started his UPSC preparations.
He dedicated his full time to the preparations of the civil service examination and subsequently cracked the UPSC examination in the year 2016, which is considered one of the toughest exams of the country. After his training, he was posted in various parts of Madhya Pradesh. In the year 2018, he was posted in Ujjain. In 2019, his posting was then changed to Gwalior. He was then posted to the city of Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh in 2020. Following that he was made the Superintendent of Police in Sagar district. In January 2022, IPS Sameer Saurabh was appointed as the Superintendent of Police of Balaghat where he carried out some brave operations against the Naxalites. He was also honoured with the prestigious President’s Medal for his bravery. According to recent reports, he is set to be transferred to Morena as the Superintendent of Police of the place.
