The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the results of the Class 10 exams. The exams took place from February 15 to 23 this year. As many as 4,52,302 students have passed with first division, comprising 2,52,846 boys and 1,99,456 girls. Similarly, 5,24,965 students have secured second division, with 2,52,121 boys and 2,72,844 girls. A total of 3,80,732 students have got third division, including 1,66,093 boys and 2,14,639 girls.
Now, among the Class 10 toppers this year is a girl from Chhapra. Palak Kumari, residing in Dhanadih village of Ekma block, located 40 kilometres away from Chhapra headquarters, has secured the third position in Bihar Class 10 Board exams with a score of 486 marks out of 500. Palak attended Higher Secondary School in Husepur, Chhapra. Her father works as a school bus driver in Kolkata.
Speaking to Local18 about her achievement, Palak revealed that she dedicated 6 to 7 hours daily to her studies. However, facing difficulties due to the distance between her school and home, she went to stay at her aunt’s house. She credited her success to her parents, teachers and her aunt. She aspires to become an IAS officer. “I am fully prepared to work harder,” she said.
Leading the toppers’ list this year is Shivankar Kumar, who secured the first rank with an outstanding performance, scoring 489 out of 500 marks. Adarsh Kumar holds the second position with 488 marks. Grabbing the third rank are Aditya Kumar, Suman Kumar Purve, Palak Kumari and Sujiya Preveen, all scoring 486 marks.
In the previous year, a total of 13,05,203 students successfully passed the Bihar Board Class 10 exams, with 6,61,570 boys and 6,43,633 girls. The overall pass rate stood at 81.04 per cent.
