In 2023, applications were invited for direct recruitment of 1,484 vacant posts of Forest Guards in the forest departments of the Chhattisgarh State Forest Department. After appeals and objections, the list of eligible and ineligible candidates was uploaded on the department’s website. After that, the recruitment could not be done in Chhattisgarh due to Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. But now the candidates have the opportunity to apply online again.
Chhattisgarh State Forest Department has issued a notification that candidates who did not apply or are not eligible for the 1,484 posts can now apply online again by visiting the department’s website www.cgforest.com. Eligible candidates need not apply again. The last date to apply is July 1, 2024, till 11:59 PM.
Educational Qualification:
The candidate should have completed the Higher Secondary Examination (12th) from a recognised school. Also, only the original applicants of Chhattisgarh state can apply online.
Age Limit
For applying for the post of Chhattisgarh Forest Guard, the age should not be below 18 and not above 40 years.
Physical Requirements
As per the minimum physical requirement for the post of Forest Guard, the height of male candidates belonging to scheduled tribes should be 152 cm. For other categories, the height has been fixed at 163 cm. The chest girth should be at least 79 cm in the general category and should expand by 05 cm if the chest girth is expanded. For female candidates, the height should be 145 cm (scheduled tribes). For other categories, it has been kept at 150 cm.
Selection Procedure
After scrutiny of application documents, the candidates who meet the physical requirements will be called for an aptitude test. The physical aptitude test will consist of a total of 100 marks out of which 60 marks must be scored. 25 marks are for a 200-metre run, 25 marks for an 800-metre run, 25 marks for a long jump and 25 marks for shot put.
Written Examination
Based on the result of the physical aptitude test, a merit ranking list will be prepared in which only a maximum of 15 times the number of advertised vacancies will be admitted to the written examination as mentioned in the list. The written examination will be objective and will consist of a total of 100 marks. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours. In this examination, questions will be asked on general knowledge, intelligence, analytical ability and arithmetic.
