In a significant move to promote digital education, BCCL (Bharat Coking Coal Limited) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EdCIL (India) Limited. Under this agreement, 79 government schools in the Dhanbad district will be equipped with smart classrooms and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs. The agreement was signed on Thursday in the presence of BCCL CMD Samiran Dutta and Director (Personnel) Murali Krishna Ramaiya at Coal Bhawan.
Under this initiative, an amount of Rs 13.54 lakh per school will be spent to be invested in setting up smart classrooms, ICT labs and technical equipment required for digital education. This project is part of Coal India’s Digital Vidya project. Its objective is to promote education among students by equipping them with modern devices and resources.
Signing the agreement, BCCL CMD Samiran Dutta said that BCCL is committed to modernising the learning experience of students and providing them with quality education. This partnership is not just limited to installing technology but is a special effort to empower the youth in the digital age.
It is worth mentioning that this initiative is part of a major change for the schools in Dhanbad where only traditional teaching methods were being used so far. With the establishment of smart classrooms and ICT labs in these schools, the students will now benefit from technical knowledge and digital education. This will also improve the quality of their education.
After the successful implementation of this project, it will prove to be a major milestone in making digital education accessible and attractive to the students in the government schools of Dhanbad. This partnership between BCCL and EdCIL will not only enhance the learning experience of the students but will also prepare them for future challenges. It is expected that similar steps will be taken in other areas to ensure equality and quality in education.
