After a comprehensive victory in the T20I series, Sri Lanka are set to host the West Indies in three One-day Internationals. The series opener is slated to take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Balagolla on October 20. Sri Lanka made a disastrous start to the home assignment, suffering a five-wicket defeat in the opening T20I. The home side, however, bounced back and won the remaining two matches by 73 runs and nine wickets respectively.

Sri Lanka were scintillating in their last ODI home series where they beat India 2-0.
Meanwhile, West Indies have not featured in any ODI game since the T20 World Cup. In their last 50-over assignment in February, the Caribbean brigade was whitewashed by Australia. Shai Hope will serve as the captain in the upcoming ODI series, with Alzarri Joseph as his deputy.
