Fans took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter to express their opinion on the Indian squad for the remaining three Tests in the ongoing five-match series against the touring England side.

The BCCI announced the Indian squad for the remaining three Tests in the ongoing five-match series against visitors England on Saturday.

Star batsman and former skipper Virat Kohli has not been named in the squad for the Tests at Rajkot, Ranchi and Dharamshala respectively due to personal reasons, while Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul, who missed the second Test through injuries return to the lineup.

Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep come into the old, while Shreyas Iyer has been left out of the list.

A user took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to share an update that read, “Was really looking forward to Virat vs England but family is always first, so respect his decision. Hope KL and Jadeja make a comeback. India really needs them”

One fan shared an update on the inclusion of Akash Deep and the rise of Bengal cricket in a post that read, “Bengal cricket continues to rise after lingering in the shallowest depths for a long long time. After Shami and Mukesh, there’s now a third Bengal bowler Akash Deep in the India squad. All 3 were playing together for the last few years (barring international commitments).

Another post read, “On home ground for India. Even this team should be sufficient against England. It will be a pity that fans won’t be able to see Kohli any more in this series. KL Rahul and Jadeja will surely be back later in the series if not available for 3rd test in Rajkot.”

While another user posted, “Virat Kohli is out for Entire Series against England…..This is first time in his entire career that he is not playing any test series….huge damage for team india ….He will make strong comeback in IPL….”

Another user opined that the scale now tips in favour of England as they wrote, “England ke pass sabse accha chance hai India me 2012 ke baad wapas test series jeetne ka”

Team India:

Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul*, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja*, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep
