OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has married his long-time boyfriend, Oliver Mulherin, in an intimate seaside ceremony in Hawaii, according to reports. After his wedding photos surfaced on social media, Altman confirmed his wedding in a text message to NBC News.
The couple has largely kept the relationship secret. However, in a candid interview with New York Magazine in September 2023, Sam Altman had said he and Oliver Mulherin would like to have kids soon.
The couple was seen together in one of the first public appearances when Altman took Mulherin to a White House dinner held in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Oliver Mulherin is an Australian software engineer. He has previously worked with Meta, between August 2020 and November 2022.
Last year, in a dramatic turn of events, Sam Altman was sacked as the CEO of ChatGPT maker OpenAI. The company’s board hired him again after a huge backlash in the market globally. Altman gained popularity after the success of the AI chatbot ChatGPT.
