Rupee Strengthens 14 Paise Against Dollar in Early Trade
The dollar slipped against other currencies overseas after US Federal Reserve left interest rates untouched and sustained foreign fund inflows supported the rupee, forex dealers said.

Mumbai: The rupee appreciated by another 14 paise to 67 against the dollar in early trade on Thursday at the Interbank Foreign Exchange amid sustained selling of the American currency by exporters.

The dollar slipped against other currencies overseas after US Federal Reserve left interest rates untouched and sustained foreign fund inflows supported the rupee, forex dealers said.

The rupee had gained 13 paise to 67.14 a dollar on Wednesday on sustained selling of the American currency by banks and exporters in view of persistent foreign capital inflows despite firm dollar overseas.

Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose by 119.99 points, or 0.42 per cent, to 28,144.32 points in early trade on Thursday.
