Rashmika Mandanna recently completed filming for the upcoming historical drama, Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar. This film marks the first collaboration between Rashmika and Vicky Kaushal, who plays the lead role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Rashmika portraying his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. Rashmika recently expressed gratitude to director Laxman Utekar and praised co-star Vicky Kaushal. Vicky, responding with kind words, called Rashmika an inspiration and remarked on the missing warmth and energy on set. Now, Rashmika playfully responds, embracing the camaraderie and recalling the fun moments shared during the filming.
Rashmika playfully acknowledged his words, stating, “Ayee, not bad naane chaaithe ulla. Thank you for your kind words, sir garu. I was just thinking how much fun it was being on the set.”
Earlier, in her Instagram post, Rashmika expressed her gratitude towards director Laxman Utekar. She wrote, “Laxman Utekar Sir, I just wonder how can a man handle such a big set with at least 1,500 working people with such calm and poise. Sir, you have seen me as Yesubai when no one in the world could’ve even thought about this, and I truly wonder how, and not just me the whole country will wonder how…but watching those visuals makes me tear up.”
Her heartfelt message continued, revealing a special moment with her mother on set, where her performance moved her mom to tears. She concluded, “You’ve gotten a performance out of me that I am excited for the world to watch.”
Rashmika also showered praise on her co-star Vicky Kaushal, affectionately referring to him as Maharaj. She added, “Maharaj, it’s been such a pleasure working with you. You are just too warm and kind (except for the last day when you were just taking my case) but most days you were amazing. I am kidding, you are such a gem. I will always wish the best for you man. Was such a pleasure. Mom has told me to convey regards to you.”
In response, Vicky Kaushal reposted Rashmika’s post on his Instagram story. He wrote, “Rashmika Mandanna…neen yennane ullia??? The whole set is missing your warmth and energy immensely. People don’t know that the smile you have on your worst days is bigger and better than the smile most have on their best days. Major inspiration! Thank you for being our Yesubai…and my regards to Aunty as well. Oh, and btw…what are you thinking now?”
Chhaava is reported to be a period drama that is anticipated to explore the bravery, sacrifice, and wartime strategies of Sambhaji Maharaj. The film is expected to weave in an emotional love story depicting the relationship between Sambhaji Maharaj and his wife.
