Actor Mithun Chakraborty recently received the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to the film industry. Popularly hailed as the “disco dancer" of Bollywood, the actor has appeared in more than 300 films across different languages and has received three National Awards for Best Actor.

Mithun who holds the record for playing lead character in 19 films in 1989, went through a rough start at the onset of his film career. For the longest time, he couldn’t find work and didn’t have a place to stay. Reportedly, Mithun used to sleep on the water tanks kept on the roofs of buildings.

While recalling his initial days in Mumbai, during an interview, the actor said that he can never forget the September 11 date. On September 11, 1969, Mithun Chokrobarty reached Mumbai to meet his uncle. “As soon as stepped out of the train at Dadar Railway Station, I heard someone yelling hero from behind," said Mithun Chakraborty. He was shocked yet pleased by the fact that someone called him a hero. It was a coolie. The actor said that he was amazed as no one ever called him a hero before.

Mithun Chakraborty later came to know that the coolie used to call everyone ‘hero’ so that they can give their luggage to him. However, the actor still believes that it was the blessings of that coolie that he became a hero in Bollywood.

As of now, Mithun has quite a big lineup of films which includes The Delhi Files and Lahore 1947. The Delhi FIles will be written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and will be produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts. It will be produced under the banner of Abhishek Agarwal Arts. It will be released in Hindi and Punjabi languages. Puneet Issar, Pallavi Joshi, Satwant Kaur, Anupam Kher and others will act in The Delhi Files.

Vivek told ANI that the film will showcase the 1984 anti-Sikh riots that took place in Delhi. He added, “Delhi files will tell you lots of truth about Tamil Nadu also." Vivek and Mithun collaborated on the film The Kashmir Files earlier.
