Vespa India has launched the Elegante scooter at Rs 78,999 ex-Delhi. The cosmetic changes to the Elegante over the Vespa VX on which it is based include a new chrome grille, chrome guard kit and a front bumper guard, colour coordinated leather finish twin seats, limited edition 'Elegante' badge and a colour coordinated helmet.
The Vespa Elegante runs the same mechanicals as the VX. A three-valve 125cc engine which makes 10.06PS of power and 10.60Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a variomatic transmission. Vespa claims 60kmpl fuel efficiency from this engine.

Vespa is expected to launch at least one or two such limited edition models every year.
